Sarah Gitlin

Sarah is a leader of McKinsey’s women and girls service line, where she has conducted extensive research on the US care economy, including through a wide range of employee and family original data collection. Recent examples of Sarah’s work include:

  • Leading multiple surveys of thousands of American caregivers focused on eldercare, childcare and managing the household. These surveys uncovered details of care needs and the extent to which Americans were (or weren’t) getting help from employers, how families wanted to “buy time back,” and how they make decisions about products and service purchases for older loved ones.
  • Conducting original research on the market opportunities for large companies across sectors to add more features to their products and services that would make them more attractive to current and potential customers who are caring for an older family member
  • Developing a care economy strategy for a large LLC, and separately driving a strategy review for a major actor in the care economy
