Rob Runett

Rob is a founding member of Motley Fool Ventures. As a partner with MFV, Rob is involved with sourcing, diligence, and support for portfolio companies, as well as fund operations. Rob led the investment in UrbanStems and is the co-sponsor of MFV’s investments in Bamboo, Finli, Micro1, and Sunnyside. He’s currently focused on behavioral health, digital health and software, and MFV’s “Goodgevity” thesis, which incorporates financial health and fintech, wellbeing, and prevention of loneliness in aging populations.

Rob is an investing committee member of The Agora Initiative, a DC-based organization that connects female tech founders to venture capital investors.

A Fool since 2006, Rob was a founding team member of Motley Fool Asset Management, LLC team and he served as Director of Retail Operations. His role included overseeing fund marketing, member-facing content, and relationships with providers and vendors. In addition to developing and launching investing services for The Motley Fool, LLC, he has championed Foolish culture as the director of leadership and development.

Before joining The Motley Fool, Rob was a writer and editor who focused on digital content and business strategies for media executives (back when “World Wide Web” was a new term). He received his bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park. He lives in Rockville, Maryland, with his wife, son and two mischievous dogs.
