Dr. Kate Sullivan

Dr. Sullivan is a Speech-Language Pathologist and Director of the Brain Fitness Center at the National Intrepid Center of Excellence located at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Dr. Sullivan has worked as a clinician at Walter Reed for over twenty years, with a primary expertise in neurorehabilitation. Her current clinical and research is focused on novel treatment approaches to enhance traditional rehabilitation options for those diagnoses with neurological disorders, acquired brain injuries, and traumatic brain injuries. Dr. Sullivan has an additional interest in populations with ill-defined explanations for cognitive dysfunction such as patients with long COVID and non-CNS cancers. She works with a multidisciplinary team to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of supplementing rehabilitative services with innovative technologies such as biofeedback and computer-based brain training tools.
